Welcome to the very first segment of Women Slay Wednesday! This series is dedicated to celebrating the women of today who help redefine what it means to be a woman in this world, regardless of their age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religion. It’s because of these  women, that little girls will know that anything is possible!

It’s only befitting to kick the first segment of WSW off with our First Lady..

Michelle Obama

women slay wednesday - michelle obama

Michelle Obama is the real life version of Claire Huxtable, exuding excellence in everything she does. Although she is constantly criticized on a scale far greater than any of us could possibly imagine, she somehow manages to always keep a poise composure, while allowing the hate to roll off her shoulders.

“There are still many causes worth sacrificing for, so much history yet to be made” -Michelle Obama

Throughout her reign as First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama has refused to allow herself to be an innate piece of ornamental furniture. While managing to be a constant support system for her husband, she also works tirelessly to bring her own initiatives to life such as the “Let Girls Learn” initiative which aims at helping adolescent girls attain a quality education; as well as her “Let’s Move” initiative, which works at ending childhood obesity.

“You can’t make decisions based on fear and the possibility of what might happen.” -Michelle Obama

In addition to these initiatives, Michelle Obama strives mercilessly to spread a message of motivation, empowerment, and hope. Whether or not you agree with her husband politically, Michelle Obama is an entity of her own who should be admired for the services she do for the women & children of this country.

We, at Simply Zaspy, salute you First Lady Michelle Obama!

Do you know of any outstanding women? Tell me about them in the comments section below so they can be the next WSW! Although Michelle Obama is “famous”, I want to be able to include everyday women in this series as well. We live in a world that sometimes seem to spin backwards. It’s important to recognize & honor women who continue to put up the good fight — be it in the business place or the community — to help encourage young girls that regardless of their circumstances, they too can achieve marvelous things!

Let me know if you enjoyed this segment and until next time, peace ✌, love ❤, and Zaspyness🌼
